Mr. Google!

My adorable, all-grown-up little boy! I couldn't have been more proud of you on your graduation. Preschool doesn't seem like such a big deal when you're a bit older, but you did a lot of growing up this past school year. You were always such a big helper to your teachers, Miss Charlotte and Miss Dani. You helped me make gifts for your friends on each holiday. You had something new to teach me everyday, and I was lucky enough to realize it.
As you watched your friends receive awards during graduation, you would cheer them on louder than any parent could. I was so proud to watch how you supported your classmates! Then, you got a little frustrated when your name was not being called for an award after a while. Eventually, saving the best for last, your teacher began to tell us a short story.. She explained that when she was at home and didn't know the answer to something, she would use her computer and look up the answers with Google. But when she was at school and needed an answer, all she had to do was ask Sawyer! She went on to say that even if you didn't know the exact answer, you were prepared to give her any answer and your reasoning behind it. She gave you the Google award because you know pretty much everything!  I agree with her, and I think this was the perfect award for you! You ALWAYS have an answer and if I hesitate to agree with that answer, you rattle off your explanation before I can object. You are the smartest person I know, Sawyer, not only for knowing so much and soaking up so much information, but for asking lots of questions when you don't always know. Keep asking questions!!

Happy Graduation!!

I know I don't update this like I should, like I want. But I at least had to say a quick CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! to my Sawyer, who has his first graduation ceremony tonight from P4J. You are amazing, Sawyer, and this first school year has really flown by! You have flourished and I can't wait to see what Kindergarten brings! I love you more than EVERYTHING!!

Lots to catch up on..

The trip to the Apple Hut was a ton of fun! A few weeks later, we also went to a Pumpkin Patch and had a really great time riding the train, making popcorn, petting animals of all kinds, and learning about the first Thanksgiving. I also had my very first parent/teacher conference, and it was no surprise that he is excelling and making friends and learning skills well!
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, me and Grandma Jackie were able to spend the afternoon at preschool with Sawyer for a Thanksgiving feast! Toward the end of the meal, we were treated to a song:

"Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you? (Clap, Clap)
Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you? (Clap, Clap)
With a gobble, gobble, gobble,
And a wobble, wobble, wobble,
Hello, Mr. Turkey, how are you? (Clap, Clap)"

It was adorable! They all had either a pilgrim hat or indian feathers on (Sawyer was a pilgrim) and had a sign around their necks saying what they were thankful for (his dog).

Now we are back into a full week of school with just a few short weeks to go before a Christmas show and then a long break. In 5 days, he will be 5 years old already and his party will be the following weekend! I had hoped to make some treats for his class but there's just too much else to worry about. It's a very exciting, busy time of year! :)

Apple Hut!

Today is Sawyer's first field trip ever! We are going to the Apple Hut in Beloit, WI. I'm so excited. I jumped at the chance to be a chaperone and go on this momentous little adventure! The camera is already waiting by the door! I will post details and photos later today :)

Back to School

Sawyer's fever went away and stayed away, and so he returned to school this afternoon. He had his third day in a row with no time-outs! Also, they started Penny Wars today so he went through his bank and separated all the pennies from the other change. He wants to win an ice cream party! Also, I have become "one of those moms"!! I volunteered to go on field trips today! I didn't know they would go on any, but I have to go because otherwise I won't get pictures of them! I'm really looking forward to that.

In any case, nothing too adventuresome today but he is better and back to being a crazy silly kid!

Getting better!

Well, we ended last week with two days of NO time-outs at preschool! I know he's going to have bad days, but you'd think after getting him to not hit etc. at home any more, he wouldn't do that at school. It's a big change going to P4J though and he's trying to figure out where he belongs amongst those 20-something children. He doesn't like a boy named Evan who he claims is naughty, and his favorite boy so far is Logan, and Alex is his favorite girl.

This past weekend, he was running high-ish fevers so I just told his teacher he won't be there today. His first sick day!! His fever finally broke this morning around 10am so it's just too soon to tell if it will come back. I did my exercises and showered this morning and laid back down with him and slept a couple hours; last night did not involve much sleep for either of us!

In any case, he should be able to go to school tomorrow if his fever stays away. Here's hoping!
